Frittata Gone Rogue

When you're down to 2 eggs but your fridge is exploding with veggies, it's time to embrace chaos—in the most delicious way.

This isn't your typical fluffy, golden frittata. This is what happens when brunch dreams meet real-life limitations: not enough eggs, too many veggies, and zero desire to follow a proper recipe. But you know what? It worked. Kind of. It’s part frittata, part veggie sauté, part improvised salad, and somehow it all comes together in a weirdly satisfying, beautifully messy dish. If you’ve ever looked at a recipe and thought “close enough,” this one's for you.

Bone Broth & Bone Magic — A Healing Ritual from My Kitchen to Yours

I didn’t grow up simmering bones for hours. But after a hard fall that broke two teeth — and later discovering a hairline fracture in my upper jaw — I found myself craving more than just food. I needed nourishment that could heal, soothe, and comfort.

Bone broth became my answer.

Why Bone Broth?

Rich in collagen, minerals, and gut-loving goodness, bone broth supports joints, skin, digestion — and for me, it’s a slow medicine for healing a fractured jaw and fibromyalgia fatigue.

The Medicine of Doing Nothing - Dolce far Niente

Learning to rest without guilt, heal without pressure, and live like the moon.

Not long ago, I would've told you that rest was a luxury.
That doing “nothing” was wasting time.
That I had to keep producing — or I’d disappear.

Whole, Even in Pieces: Redefining What It Means to Be Happy

“True happiness isn’t a constant smile — it’s the moment you stop running from yourself.

It’s a quiet exhale that says: I am here. I am whole. Even in pieces.”

There’s a strange thing I’ve noticed — in myself, in others, and especially in this world soaked in performance:

We’ve been taught to distrust happiness.
To see it as suspicious. Flaky. Unserious.

As if joy is something reserved for the wealthy, the healed, the enlightened. As if being happy means you’ve given up on growth or you’ve lost touch with the “real world.”

But here's the truth:
I am happy.
And it's weird.
I don’t have a lot of money.
My nervous system is fried half the time.
I live with chronic pain.
There are so many unknowns in my life.

And still — deep inside — I’m at peace with myself.
I no longer fight who I am.
I still want to evolve, sure.
But I’ve stopped making change my punishment.

Softness Is Power: Redefining Strength When You're Tired of Surviving

There comes a point in healing when you realize:
You’re not interested in proving your strength anymore.
You’re not interested in surviving like it’s a sport.
You’re interested in being. Whole. Present. Soft.

I used to equate strength with endurance. With pushing through migraines, spasms, grief, trauma, bone-tired days. I kept going — because stopping felt like failure. Because rest made me anxious. Because softness felt like weakness.

But I see now: that wasn’t strength. That was resignation in a war I didn’t even agree to fight.

True strength is different.
It’s slower. Quieter.
It listens instead of performs.

When Life Knocks You Down (Literally) — You Rethink Everything

Not long ago, I fell — hard. And not just metaphorically.

Getting out of a car one day, I lost balance and landed face-first on the concrete. Two of my teeth broke and pierced through my lip. I was rushed to the hospital for stitches and scans. There was no time to process — just pain.

No painkillers were prescribed. I was left with over-the-counter options and the type of endurance no one talks about.

But honestly? The physical injury was only half of it.

A Time for Healing: My Journey of Recovery and Rediscovery

Life has a way of unfolding in the most unexpected of ways. What starts as a normal day can suddenly change course, offering us an opportunity to pause, reflect, and realign with ourselves. This is exactly what happened when I experienced an unexpected fall that left me needing to take time off from blogging and social media. Though it wasn’t easy, this time of recovery became a pivotal moment of rediscovery, self-reflection, and deep healing.

The Fall That Changed Everything

It was a seemingly ordinary day, but like all moments in life, it was fleeting and unpredictable. After the fall, everything shifted. The physical pain was sharp and overwhelming, but what followed was a deeper, quieter realization that my body was telling me something important. The need to slow down and truly care for myself had never been more evident.

This time away from the digital world and my usual routine of blogging and social media gave me the space I didn’t even realize I needed. I had been pushing myself, working to maintain constant content creation and engagement, all while overlooking my own need for balance. The fall wasn’t just a physical injury—it was a spiritual wake-up call.

The Importance of Taking a Step Back

As someone who is deeply connected to the concepts of mindfulness, holistic living, and creative expression, I believe in the importance of listening to our bodies. The fall gave me the chance to reconnect with my inner self and remind me that recovery—whether physical, mental, or emotional—requires patience, presence, and self-compassion.

During my time off, I reflected on how much of my energy had been flowing outward toward my work, my audience, and my responsibilities. While these are all important, I realized that I had not been giving myself the same nurturing care. Taking time off wasn’t just about rest; it was about recalibrating my priorities and learning to give myself permission to pause without feeling guilty.

Finding Healing in Stillness

In the quiet of my recovery, I rediscovered the art of stillness. Instead of rushing back into the digital world, I allowed myself to embrace the process of healing. I spent time nurturing my body with nourishing food, engaging in gentle movements that aligned with my healing, and practicing mindfulness through meditation, journaling, and poetry.

I also revisited my love for painting. The act of creating art was not only therapeutic but served as a reminder of the power of expression. Art, in all its forms, has always been a medium through which I could communicate my emotions, and during this time of recovery, it became my refuge and solace.

Reclaiming Balance Through Mindful Living

As the days passed, I found myself returning to the foundation of what I share with others on my Mindful Art and Kitchen Blog: the importance of nurturing both the body and spirit. I used this time to reconnect with my love for food, herbs, and wellness practices that honor the body as a temple.

In fact, many of the healing practices I have written about found their way back into my daily routine. Simple acts like sipping herbal teas, nourishing my body with wholesome, seasonal ingredients, and practicing deep breathing became integral to my recovery. I reminded myself that true wellness isn’t about perfection but about being present in the process.

Embracing the Process of Recovery and Rebirth

Now that I’m on the mend, I’ve come to realize that this journey wasn’t just about physical recovery—it was about spiritual rebirth. The fall forced me to slow down, but it also invited me to grow in ways I hadn’t anticipated. In the time I’ve taken off from blogging and social media, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of what it truly means to nurture oneself and cultivate a balance between the inner and outer worlds.

I’m returning to my creative work with a fresh perspective—one that is rooted in self-compassion and intentionality. While I will continue to share recipes, art, and wellness tips, I am now more committed than ever to emphasizing mindful living in everything I create. This time of rest and reflection has not only enhanced my work but has also reawakened my passion for combining art, food, and spirituality in a way that serves both my audience and myself.

A New Beginning

In a world that constantly asks us to do more and be more, I hope my experience serves as a reminder that sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is take a step back. It’s okay to pause, to heal, and to rediscover the rhythm of life at our own pace. True healing comes from giving ourselves permission to rest, listen, and recalibrate.

I’m grateful for this time away from the hustle and bustle of blogging and social media. It has given me the space to realign with my true self and approach my work from a place of clarity, peace, and deep gratitude. And while I’m excited to return to my creative endeavors, I carry with me the lessons of patience and presence that I learned during my time of healing.

Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to sharing more of my journey with you all—more mindful, more authentic, and more connected than ever before.

Migraine 101: What It Is, Why It Happens, and Natural Ways to Find Relief

I’m writing this while battling a migraine—probably thanks to my fibromyalgia and the sudden weather shift. If you’ve ever had one, you know how brutal they can be. It’s not just a headache; it’s a full-body experience that drains your energy, messes with your vision, and makes the simplest tasks feel impossible. The pounding pain, nausea, and sensitivity to light and sound can turn an ordinary day into sheer survival mode.

And yet, migraines are still so misunderstood. People who don’t experience them often assume you can just “take a painkiller and power through.” If only it were that simple. Migraines are neurological, not just a matter of head pain, and their triggers are frustratingly unpredictable—anything from stress to certain foods to even the weather can set one off.
